1st FREE EVENT 2012-2013:
"Holiday Shopping Stuff!" December 15

Our first public developmental audience engagement and collaboration workshop was held
Saturday, December 15, 2012, at 2:30 p.m.

Video and news will be posted here soon about our highly successful first, developmental, audience interactive collaboration and play reading.  For now, a huge "Thank You!" to the great staff at the Dorothy I. Height/Benning Neighborhood Library for not only giving us a wonderful, warm welcome, but for facilitating our having, as a great and honored guest at this event, the Chief of Staff from the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services, Beatriz "BB" Otero!

In this,
the biggest shopping season of the year, with her acute awareness of our consumer society's drive for acquisition of material objects, Pakrat Patty tells the story of her struggle to manage and divest herself of TOO MUCH STUFF.

This public event, presented free of admission fee, took place at the Dorothy I. Height/Benning Neighborhood Library, 3935 Benning Rd. N.E., Washington, DC 20019, 202-281-2583 http://www.dclibrary.org/benning

Free Admission, Ample Free Parking, Metro Accessible.

Many thanks to all who joined us at 2:30 p.m. for this inaugural audience interaction collaboration to develop "DisordR, The Play!"

Praise for DisordR

Washington City Paper's Caroline Jones gave us a nice mention May 10, 2013.  http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/articles/44275/disordr-at-st-elizabeths-hospital-saturday-may-11

AND FOR DisordR IN 2009:

"stellar double feature...Hilary Kacser as Pakrat Patty...spills her heart out about dealing with all her stuff with hilarity, poignant honesty, and realism. Hilary Kacser gets to the heart of why a lot of us live the way we do, surrounded by stuff we no longer need, will not use, and cannot find when we need to. ...Disorder covers a tremendous amount of emotional territory by breaking down aspects of hoarding, what it is, why we do it, while laying out the consequences of being filled beyond capacity, including the sudden rise of U-Store-Itt companies.
...
"Kacser is a gifted actress and she communicates the delicacy and intricacy of the situations with respect and caring. Watching her deal with her relationship to her stuff is a healing and cathartic experience. ...a believable ally. ...hilarious.
"... listening to Patty’s stories, and watching her metamorphosis in real time, ... is not only funny and entertaining, but can actually change our approach to our own “disorder,” one bag at a time."
-- Debbie Minter Jackson, DC Theatre Scene, July 16, 2009 (http://dctheatrescene.com/2009/07/16/2-shows-disorderplant-psychic/)

Saturday, November 6, 2010 -- Silver Spring

For one show only, The Washington Revels kindly offered the Rehearsal/Performance Space of the new, purpose-built Revels headquarters, for a performance of
2 One Acts:

SATURDAY NIGHT, 6 NOVEMBER 2010,
at 8 p.m.

An uncannily recognizable and potentially alarming encounter with hoarding behavior, “DISORDr” humanizes and humorously leavens the “clutter component” of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (“O.C.D.”)

Set in 1949-1950, “In Pursuit of the English,” the memoir by 2007 Nobel Prize Laureate Doris Lessing, brings to life “Rose,” a woman who recalls with wit and pathos how she survived the World War II Blitz of London.
